ROGUE WARRIOR: SIEZE THE DAY book cover.
Webmaster note: The founder of Gunchicks.com is a long time fan of the Rogue Warrior series of books. And in case you hadn't noticed, Rogue Manor and the Gunchicks.com base of operations are relatively close to each other.

If you've never read any of Richard Marcinko's books, be sure to read the original book "Rogue Warrior" and "Red Cell" as well as his most recent book (as of the time this photo gallery was put together) called SEIZE THE DAY.

Richard 'Dick' Marcinko (pronounced Mar-SINK-oh) – a.k.a. Demo Dick, a.k.a. Shark Man of the Delta, a Navy man for over 30 years and the Navy Seal who invented and commanded the first SEAL TEAM SIX... the Navy’s first and only counter-terrorist command.

SEAL Team SIX engaged in highly classified missions from Central America to the Middle East, the North Sea to Africa and beyond, and established itself as the world’s foremost counter-terrorism unit.

Definitely the coolest photo shoot we have ever done to date.

All three of the black rifles you see featured in this gallery were built by the Gunchicks.com founder. To say that they were "built" means that every last little part that went into the making of each rifle or carbine, was "manufactured" by an federally licensed "FFL Manufacturer" and then were eventually sold  individually from a  FFL Dealer's retail store. where they were then assembled together to become one of the weapons you see here in this photo gallery.

Each rifle started out as  a stripped lower frame and then had each of the remaining parts added to it until it became a complete  and working firearm.  The lower frame (or "receiver") bears the serial number and is sold by an FFL Dealer through the same process as buying a complete firearm. Buying a firearm from an FFL Dealer ALWAYS requires the completion of a federal form by the actual buyer of the firearm, as well as (here in Virginia) the buyer undergoing a quick background check from the Virginia State Police.

Some of the interesting and notable parts seen here are lower receivers from Tactical Innovations and Spike's Tactical.  There is a VLTOR WEAPON SYSTEMS upper reciever, stocks from Magpul and VLTOR, and the barrels are all from various manufacturers. Each of the rifles has lots of smaller individual parts made by almost countless different small business manufacturers who specialize in building "hot rod parts" for these black rifles. Other brands  represented here are Daniel Defense, Surefire, Pentagon, AK Concepts and a lot more. These particular firearms are not for sale.

The "black rifles" you see here are all based on the original rifle design of Eugene Stoner who invented the AR-15/M-16 used for the first time in Vietnam by the US military.  The tern "black rifles" is a nick name but it does represent a complete industry within the overall greater firearms industry.
